A/C Repair & Service

How It Works

Cold Air Starts with a Free A/C Performance Check

When the cabin takes forever to cool down on a 100-degree Tomball afternoon, guessing at the cause gets expensive fast. Every car A/C repair at Pristal's Automotive begins with a free A/C performance check, so our recommendations come from real readings instead of assumptions. We measure high- and low-side pressures, check vent temperatures, and inspect the compressor, condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, hoses, and seals for oil staining or refrigerant loss.

If the system is leaking, we pinpoint the leak before talking about a recharge. Adding refrigerant to a system that can't hold it only buys a few weeks of cold air, and you end up paying twice. Once we know what the system needs, we send photos and notes from the digital inspection to your phone and review the estimate with you. Nothing gets repaired until you approve it.

Modern A/C systems tie into engine management and blower controls, and many hybrids and EVs use electric compressors on a high-voltage circuit. Our ASE-certified technicians are trained on all of it.

What to Know

Signs Your Car's A/C Is Losing the Battle with Texas Heat

A/C systems rarely quit all at once. Most give you a warning first, and catching the problem early is often the difference between replacing a seal and replacing a compressor. Bring your vehicle in if you notice:

• Air that starts cool, then turns warm after a few minutes of driving
• A musty or mildew smell when the system first kicks on
• A compressor that clicks on and off more often than it used to
• Water pooling on the passenger-side floor mat
• Hissing, rattling, or grinding while the A/C is running

We repair A/C systems on gas, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicles for drivers across Tomball, Magnolia, and Cypress. Once the work is done, it's protected by our 36-month/36,000-mile nationwide warranty, so you're covered even on a summer road trip. If a compressor or condenser replacement doesn't fit this month's budget, Snap Finance lets you spread out the cost. You can book a performance check online any time, day or night.
