Subaru Repair & Service

Our Approach

Subaru Expertise, from Boxer Engines to Symmetrical AWD

Subarus are built for adventure, with horizontally opposed Boxer engines and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive on nearly every model. Those features give Subaru its sure-footed handling, and they also make some repairs different from other vehicles. Pristal's Automotive helps Tomball drivers keep their Subarus ready for anything.

We service the Outback, Forester, Crosstrek, Impreza, Legacy, Ascent, WRX, and BRZ, plus the electric Solterra. Our technicians are familiar with Subaru's naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines, Lineartronic CVTs, and the EyeSight driver-assistance system. If one tire is damaged beyond repair, we'll explain all of your choices, including whether the other three should be replaced too.

Here's a tip many Subaru owners don't know: because of how the all-wheel-drive system works, all four tires should stay closely matched in size and tread depth. Replacing only one or two tires can put extra stress on the drivetrain. We'll measure your tread during your free digital inspection and walk you through your options.

Common Repairs

Subaru Head Gasket, CVT & AWD Repairs

A few Subaru issues come up often enough that we see them regularly:

• Head gasket leaks on older 2.5-liter engines
• CVT fluid service and transmission diagnosis
• Oil consumption checks on some newer engines
• Wheel bearing replacement
• AWD differential fluid service

If your older Subaru is losing coolant or you notice an oil leak near where the engine halves meet, a head gasket may be the cause. Catching it early can prevent overheating and more costly engine damage.

Repairs come with our nationwide 36-month/36,000-mile warranty. Our ASE Master Technicians and Advanced Level Specialists follow Subaru's specifications, and our shop has earned ASE Blue Seal and AAA Approved status.

Courtesy loaners and online scheduling make the visit easy, and Snap Finance can help with larger repairs. Active military, veterans, first responders, teachers, and firefighters receive a service discount. Book online any time and keep your Subaru ready for the next road trip or trailhead.
