Spark Plug Replacement

How It Works

Restore Smooth Starts and Better Fuel Economy

Spark plugs fire thousands of times a minute, igniting the fuel that powers your engine. As they wear, that spark weakens, and you'll start to notice it: rough idling, hesitation when you accelerate, harder cold starts, engine misfires, or a gradual drop in fuel economy. Left too long, worn plugs can damage ignition coils and even the catalytic converter.

Before replacing anything, we perform a complimentary digital vehicle inspection. That inspection often reveals related issues, like worn ignition coils, cracked plug boots, or fouling patterns that point to oil or fuel problems elsewhere in the engine. You'll see the photos on your phone before any work starts, and nothing is done without your approval.

We use the plug type your manufacturer specifies. Copper plugs cost the least but wear out sooner, while platinum and iridium plugs cost more and last much longer. Installing the wrong type can create the very problems you came in to fix, so we don't take shortcuts on parts.

What to Know

What Affects the Cost of Spark Plug Replacement

The price of a spark plug job depends mostly on your engine. A four-cylinder with easy access takes far less labor than a V6 or V8 where plugs sit beneath the intake manifold or behind stacked coil packs. A Ford F-150 with an EcoBoost engine, a Honda Accord, and a Ram truck each have very different setups. Factors that shape your estimate include:

• Engine layout and how easily the plugs can be reached
• Plug material: copper, platinum, or iridium
• Condition of ignition coils and plug wires
• Additional findings from the inspection

Our factory-trained technicians know these differences well, so there's no guesswork on your vehicle. Every spark plug replacement carries our 36-month/36,000-mile warranty on parts and labor, honored nationwide. Schedule online and we'll send text updates throughout the day, or ask about a courtesy loaner if leaving your car is inconvenient. Tomball and Rosehill drivers often notice smoother starts and better mileage right away.
